The best tip for getting the most out of your cannabis...

If you’ve ever tried to make a home infusion then you already know that one common issue is the potency of your edibles. Determining dosage can be downright confusing. For example, if you have ever made a batch of infused brownies, or salad dressing and had a bad or nonexistent reaction, then not knowing your numbers could be the underlying issue.


If this has happened to you before, just know you’re not alone. It’s probably one of the most common issues when cooking with cannabis. Now the good news is that there IS a simple way to combat this issue.  

All you have to do is get familiar with your cannabis. Let me explain… Most "experts," tell you a blanket number to decarboxylate and then send you on your way. But that's only half the part.  What usually happens is that when it comes time to cook with your extraction,  we tend to burn off the cannabinoids and terpenes present due to high temperatures combined with miseducation. That’s because we assume all cannabis is created equal. 

So, here’s what I tell people to do instead. 

When you are ready to infuse your cannabis creations, remember these 2 numbers 342 & 396.

The cannabinoid THC begins to burn off at 342 degrees F and the cannabinoid CBD begins to burn off at 392 F. Most baking and stovetop cooking can exceed these temperatures and leave you with a less than desirable edible experience. 

Why does keeping it low and slow work so well? Customizing your approach to cooking with cannabis will not only create a superior quality product but taking this approach will also yield repeatable results. :-) 

I encourage you to bake your infused goods between 320-330 degrees F and keep your stovetop infusions on medium to low heat, give this approach a try to see if you can feel the difference.
